Trying something new...

Prologue

A real writer, always starts with a prologue. So here's mine.

This is me (see left), Reby. A 33 year old woman sharing an apartment in the South of Milan and working as an English teacher, footloose and fancy free.

However sadly, the thing I have found out over time, is that no matter where I end up living in the world life becomes stale and routine. Work always preludes life. Then before you know it, another year has past and what do we have to show for it?

Myself for example, I have put on another 20lb and feel further away from achieving any of my life goals. Things like owning my own place and having a successful career has been made impossible for most of my generation.

So, after much thought and an absolute love of Matt Cutts’Ted Talk ‘Try something new for 30 days’, I have decided this year I would follow in his footsteps and try something new for significant periods of time.
The idea is that you add or subtract something to your life for a substantial period of days (some challenges are safer to do for prolonged periods whilst other things I want to try are advised for shorter periods), it could be anything, something small and insignificant to something completely wild and life changing.

It won’t be the first time I have dabbled with adding/subtracting things from my life. I have often given up chocolate/alcohol/carbs/social media on multiple occasions and also added things in like walking/swimming/meditating (see right).

These slight changes can have a positive impact in your life and make it more memorable or totally change the way you decide to live your life. So far it's been an outwardly positive experience and that's why I would like to share it with those willing readers.

Ok so I am a bit late in posting the first few challenges but I have my reasons and one of them being, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to post them or how to post (not the most tech savvy person).

So here is to the first challenge of many…
